Summer all year round
- The climate of Malaysia is tropical which means there is a lot of rain fall however the temperatures throughout the year average 28 C. One can expect therefore to have some rain, sun and clouds every day BUT it is never cold which is attractive for those who dislike European winters.
Quality of life
- Life in Malaysia can be quite relaxed and cheap. It is quite normal to have a living-in maid at a very reasonable cost, cost of living is half of that in Europe, property prices are very affordable and people are friendly.
English is widely spoken
- Although the official language of Malaysia is Bahasa Melayu, English is widely spoken and it is the languages in which business is conducted.
Minimum number of days
- No restrictions regarding the minimum number of days in the year spent in the country.

Propery - Rent or Buy
- No need to purchase or even rent an apartment. There is however no problem for foreigners purchasing property or land in Malaysia – in contrast to other counties in South East Asia (e.g. Thailand).
Tax free car
- Although Malaysia has quite a high import tax on cars, each MM2H resident is allowed to bring in his/her own personal car without the need to pay import duty, excise duty and sales tax. If you choose to import a car you must apply for approval within six months of the visa being issued. If you buy a local car then you have up to one year to make the application for approval.
